ALI B AT AFRIKA BURN 2011

AIRFIX020

.

This is the second film I have made about my adventures at Afrika Burn, the official African outpost of Burning Man, the art and music event based on radical self expression and self reliance. 2011 was an awesome year with lots of amazing art and music and I got to hang out with some truly great, great people. I pretty much had a 40 hour week of DJing, playing for around 5/6 hours a night which for anyone that knows me, will appreciate is my idea of heaven. Big thanks again to the VuVu Lounge whose mobile sound system once again owned Tankwa Town alongside The Succulents and The Led Headz. This film was shot on my trusty iPhone and edited on my laptop and features aerial footage of Afrika Burn which was filmed from a short ride in a very small plane, giving a great sense of scale. I can’t wait for Afrika Burn 2012 which takes place from 25th – 30th April. You can check out the piece I wrote for the Guardian Newspaper here.

WHERE IS IT? (REMIXES) – WILL SAUL FEAT URSULA RUCKER [AIRFIX024]

Will Saul & Ursula Rucker‘s classic track Where Is It? was originally released on Ali B’s Air Recordings label in 2006 with a remix from Evil Nine. Will recently licensed it for his own Simple Records label with remixes from Steve Bug and Lazersonic. Now it’s the turn of the UK’s Pimpsoul and Mr No Hands alongside Canada’s Audited Beats and The Gaff who between them, take this classic track into the realms of breaks & beats, deep house and funk…

WAITING FOR A REVOLUTION – DJ LOVE [AIRFIXCD003]

‘Waiting For A Revolution’ is the debut artist album from renowned Dallas based hip hop DJ & producer DJ Love, forthcoming on Ali B‘s Air Recordings label. The album features tracks with hip hop heavyweights Geechi Suede from Camp Lo and Special Ed alongside local Dallas artists, Leon The Pro, Jakia, L Biasca, The Elze and Infored. The album swerves between breaks and hip hop, demonstrating DJ Love’s skills as a beatsmith of the highest order. There has been a lot of heat around the singles released so far with remixes from the likes of A-Skillz, Nick Thayer, Fort Knox Five, Pimpsoul and Basement Freaks to name but a few and so the release of the full album is highly anticipated…
